Last Day

We saved the best classes to last!
Lynette's class was my highlight I've always loved her work its very me- lots of little fiddly bits to cut out! We sit in her class and she announces she's retiring & leaving the scrapbook industry after a 15yr journey! That made me even more glad I'd come to her class!

This was the presentation of the kit - very impressive. Lyn is bottom left and this his her mum she was a crack up & they made a great team worked so well together.
This is what we made

Lyn was a pro , the class was packed 25 of us she kept us all together when teaching and we all finished and finished early! I was blown away, that takes real skill!!
Jos class was also the one she'd been hanging out for. Jane davenport is an amazing artist and if your into art journals she's right up there in brilliance!
And here's Jo with what she made

There's lots of layers which don't show up in the photo and you use lots of napkins. Jo has a real flare for mix media, she loves it and it shows in her fabulous work!
Now for one last walk around the show - my favourite product at the moment I was in washi heaven!!!

There were truckloads of dies

Masks - less hanging there after Jo visited!!

Napkins!

When did napkins get so fancy??!! This is one pack Jo got

Here's Alyce the guru of the Copic world she is sooooo young! The sweetest little thing she colours brilliantly and was constantly surrounded by people. This is her work .

The crowds!!!

The demos!

The weary feet got a rest at lunch!

This was the non scrapbooking highlight of the day , I saw DAVE!!! I haven't seen Dave since march so it was sooo nice to catch up and get a big hug!
It was a super quick visit but he's doing really well loving city life and hanging out with his friends.

Thanks for meeting up with me Dave it was great to see you!
Back to the show and you can just hear Karen saying "Oh don't you take a photo' !!! Hee hee and I did !!!

This time she really is working!!!

And here you have the BALLARAT BEAUTIES!!

We had lots of fun hanging out and I can't tell you how much I loved catching up with these ol buddies it was just like old times chatting and laughing! now girls that we've been inspired and have lots of new stuff we have to go home and CREATE!!

And to do that one needs products! Jo's famous last words "I'm only going to buy 3 distress paints" she even told me the 3 colours! Lets see her 3

Yep you counted right 11!!!!
It was the best newish product there its amazing stuff covers metal chipboard brilliantly but you can paint them and make backgrounds and they dont run into a muddy yuk puddle of mush layer on top of layer its brilliant!

I'm a sucker for washi!

And here's jos tho she's blaming me for leading her astray!!

And that's all we are going to show you!!!! Lol

Today's the day!! Loads of women waiting to get inside!
There's a buzz of excitement in the air!

Straight to my First class

This turned into this

It was a Jane treganzza class shes been a graphic 45 DT for three years and her work is amazing she has 5 kids, owns a store and teaches all over the world its credit to her how she juggles it all.

and Then my next class I made this, I stepped out of my comfort zone as those who know me if its yukky messy go everywhere product ie glitter, or glimmermist etc I don't like it so I don't use it! Well I was up to my armpits in goop in this class but I survived and turned out not bad for a first effort!

Jo' class made this in napkin covering journal class its not her colour choice but she learnt some different techniques and just so your not wondering the dress is made from a wet one!!

In between classes theres Lots to see- Jo loves art journals

Heres a familiar friendly face!! Karen was 'working' chatting to everyone!!!

Do you how hard it was to get a photo of this without trillions of people! Project life our favourite and it was soooo disappointing! No new stock, no prices but it was the busiest of busy stands!!

Gotta run will post more later!

Off to the big smoke

We've planned and looked forward to this weekend for over a year and its finally here!!!! We are off to THE SCRAPBOOK expo!!!!
It was an early start Paul dropped me off on his way to work - not everyone gets to watch the sun rise over emerald airport!!!!!

We had abit of time for retail therapy before the expo started

Here's a quick squiz around the city by the river!!

In the mall they had footys hanging off the roof & underneath was a stand with brisbane lion players and I'm sure my boys would've know who they all were I thought I did we'll to know which team they were!!!

Then the butterflies!

Jo & I couldn't get over this line it was always there, always long, took us abit to figure out what they were doing! They were signing up for a credit card at 1.5% interest! It's such a random thing to do in middle of a mall!!!!

We didn't think it would be soooo hot here in brissy our feet weren't happy, so at lunch we found a place that had a concrete floor so off with the shoes and some serious foot chilling was carried out!

We walked down by the river and there's this steel contraption that looks like whale bones covered in boganvillia

A relaxing drink by the river to finish off our day

Round and Round we go

A girlfriend in Ballarat was telling me about how they are putting in another round about in York street that makes 5 in the one street and I had to laugh ,Paul and I counted six round abouts in the whole town of Emerald!!!

But we have something very special up here

Big intersections with NOTHING!!! No giveway or stop signs anywhere!!!!

I kid you not ,major cross roads all un marked!

Special skill is required ,one must be good at guessing what the other person is going to do which makes for fun coz they are trying to guess what your doing!!

I hate them ,they are everywhere!!!
It's worse at night with barely any street lighting you can sail right thru not realising your in a big intersection! Ballarat might have overkill on roundabouts but its better than guessing !!!

Car kinda day

There was a wedding across the road

And Sallyanne they had a mustang too!!

Went to buy a crochet hook and look what I parked near

Now who drives a hot rod to the supermarket???!

I'm tracking across the car park and I love orange cars & spot this!

I am getting closer to my crochet hook when I saw this & thought Matt you never parked ones like this in the drive!!!

And then for my brother the guru of smart cars this is the only one in emerald I never realised they are so TINY!! No wonder you own two of them Ben two only make up space of one car!!!!!!

Finally got the crochet hook and I will show you what I made later in the week I was working hard to finish it but I have had two "have you done your blog yet" texts so here's a sneak peek

the finished product is for another blog post!

The Chair

Look what turned up for me all the way from Ballarat from Matt for Mother's Day!

I was rapt!

But..... I had my heart set on red, so with Matts permission I attacked it with spray paint in the middle of the driveway

And now I have the best red chair!!

Paul wanted his chair to be blue so that's what I was doing at the tip - looking for a chair for my man! I found one and it was blue! Score!!!! Also picked up a table - Grand total $15! Perfect set!

We enjoy lunching outside on our little patio

I wanted to take a photo of Paul on his chair and this is what I get

And I wonder where the kids get it from!!! But kids take note he also did give me a big smile!!!

And just wanted to show our sky today its just beautiful up here not hot not cold just glorious And I can sit on my red chair and enjoy it all !!

Ahhhhh winter in Emerald!!
